Chef Hakan is a second-generation baker who learned his craft in his uncle's bakery in Istanbul. His love for baking started out with making pastries and sourdough bread at first. Hit by a pizza obsession later on, similar to Anatolian flatbread, Chef Hakan studied, experimented, and observed various pizza-making methods. I loved everything about the place except for one disappointing detail. Despite mentioning it was my husband’s birthday ahead, we were not offered a nice table to mark the occasion. To make matters worse, as we were joyfully chatting over dinner, we were told we would need to vacate the table by a certain time. From such an upscale establishment, I expected much better attention to detail and hospitality.
