During the day sunlight floods in, even on the darkest of days, while evening guests can dine with the stars as they twinkle over the beautiful candlelit room. Order takeaway and come to collect will get 15% off. Please call 0208 567 1719. It’s a good sign when a restaurant is always busy, and Maxim in Ealing is bustling most nights. This long-established restaurant in Ealing is known affectionately by its customers as “Mrs Chow’s” in homage to the lady in charge of the cooking, who believes in using fresh, natural ingredients. Feeling adventurous? Swap sesame prawn toast for “shredded jellyfish with three delicacies” or “frog’s leg in black bean sauce”. If not, don’t worry – you’ll do just as well with traditional starters like satay chicken or sweet-and-sour won ton. Follow with aromatic duck, a classic of its kind with crisp golden skin and tender meat, or push the boat out with a whole lobster, halved and served with ginger and spring onion sauce. Side dishes like glossy, crispy green beans are equally good. Finish with deep-fried banana and apple, the crunchy coating giving way to soft, fluffy fruit.

It is the perfect setting too for closing that business deal.At Maroush, our food and service reflect these traditions. From that first restaurant, we now have sixteen. These include more formal dining at Maroush Gardens, live entertainment in a more relaxed atmosphere at both Maroush Vere Street and Maroush I, while at Ranoush Juice we offer freshly squeezed natural juice to accompany our food–this is now available at most of our restaurants. More recently, we have launched Maroush Bakehouse, where our customers can get freshly baked artisan and Lebanese bread, sweets and cakes along with our traditional Lebanese fare.

Mamma Ristorante, in various guises, has been a west London fixture and firm favourite with locals for over 25 years. The current restaurant is on Richmond's Kew Road, easy walking distance from Kew Gardens, and the shops and transport links of Richmond. The décor is wonderfully quirky; the restaurant is decked out to look like a courtyard in Italy, complete with washing lines hung with clothes strung over the tables. As for the food, the extensive menu is full of authentic Italian classics, just like mamma used to make. Diners can choose from a range of tempting antipasti, salads, pastas and risottos, pizzas, meat and seafood dishes, as well as a range of classic Italian desserts. The fresh, tasty food, friendly service, affordable wine list and welcoming atmosphere all go down well with customers and ensure Mamma Ristorante will remain a Richmond institution for many years to come.
