"The Canny Man's in Morningside is an Edinburgh institution established in 1871 and passed down through 5 generations of the Kerr family. As famous chef Rick Stein said 'The Canny Man's is the best pub in the world.'The establishment is well known far and wide for it’s quirky nature and ‘never’ changing décor. The interior sees every nook and cranny filled with everything from moose heads to muskets, sheet music to stuffed animals. A genuinely one of a kind bar and restaurant. The restaurant specialises in the best Scottish produce with a strong focus on local suppliers. Alongside this they have a well stocked gantry of over a 200 malt whiskies and a large wine list. The Canny Man's is very much a unique experience in Edinburgh and not to be missed."

This was our second time in the restaurant and did not disappoint. There’s a very relaxed atmosphere The staff are lovely and there’s no sense of rush. You are made to feel very welcome..The only thing I wasn’t so keen on was the TV screen showing football games distracted our football mad family from entering into any other conversation! This is not a criticism of the restaurant as I knew what to expect before we went.We will be back.

Lovely food and friendly staff. My partner and I ordered two rucola Pizzas, one with a gluten base, and we thought they were lovely. Plenty toppings and nice crust, would highly recommend. Finished with an americano, a cappucino and a slice of pistachio cheesecake.

This is not a cheap option for lunch, but for a special occasion or treat, it is one of my favourite places in Edinburgh. The food, service and ambience are consistently exceptional. Definitely need to book in advance. The phone was busy all lunchtime with people looking for a table that night but they were fully booked.

Lovely experience . We had a cheese platter, scotch egg and wine. Excellent server who explained the origin of all the cheeses. We were first in the lounge which was a little cold but soon warmed up once the heater was on. Well worth a visit
