Best Lunch Restaurants in Little Canada

We three were celebrating the youngest sister's birthday with a brunch at Holman's Table and we were NOT disappointed. While I had enjoyed dinners there before, the other two had not even heard of the place that was part of the St. Paul Downtown Airport, not that far from where we lived decades ago as children on the lower West Side. The food and service were excellent. Our server, Anne G., was knowledgeable, competent and gracious. In addition to prompt service, she fulfilled our every request, like getting a bit more of that wonderful salad dressing and getting a picture of the jar from which the marvelous whole grain mustard came. Everything was DELICIOUS and beautifully presented. We highly recommend the farro/walnut/yellow beet/ apple/spring green salad with Champagne dressing, the mushroom toasts and scrambled egg breakfast and the Charcuterie board for a starter. The birthday cheesecake dessert was wonderful; and, they even gave the birthday girl a gift certificate with which to visit again. The decor was so fitting for the 1930s era building at an airport. We will return.

Lovely meal with friends, the Downtowner’s food, service and warmth can always be counted on. A true gem in Downtown St. Paul.

This was our first visit to Baldamar. We were celebrating my husband's birthday. I knew the menu looked good but we had no idea what to expect going in. It was one of the top experiences we have ever had at a restaurant. The atmosphere is cozy, sexy, and fun. We were greeted at our table with some confetti and a birthday card. Mason was our server and he made the experience so special. He took the time to walk us through the menu and the specials and offered us personal recommendations which we needed since everything looked wonderful! We had the holiday charcuterie board which we absolutely devoured. My husband ordered the prime ribeye and I had the miso sea bass- delicious! We will definitely be back and recommend Baldamar to any of our friends and family looking for a top-of-the-line chop house experience without the traditional pretentiousness.

I took my daughter here for her birthday, and she and my other daughter and I agreed it was just wonderful in every way! Our food was delicious, our espresso martinis superb, and our service attentive and friendly. Located in the lobby of the Union Depot, one feels transported back to a romantic era, and it's fun to imagine all of the people throughout the different decades passing through this grand building.

The manager helped us prepare 11 to-go orders on Thanksgiving Day and timed it perfectly so we were able to leave with hot food after we finished our coffee. The server, Ann, was wonderful and everyone was very attentive. We sat in the bar, and it was quiet and lovely. We would go back for sure.
