- CChristineVIPPittsburgh / Western PA •65 reviews5.0Dined on 29 Dec 2024The establishment is well-run. We ate downstairs because my husband shouldn't climb steps. (I didn't know to ask for this when I made the reservation, so it might be nice to let people know that most seating is upstairs.) We were greeted by the couple, who may be the owners. They accommodated us quickly and very attentively. The menu was varied, with an array of seasonal, seafood, and classic Italian dishes. My husband had the carmelized brussel sprouts, which was a huge portion and probably the best sprouts we've tasted in the city. My house salad had nuts, berries, and cheese and cost a $5 upcharge with my entree. Both our entrees were sensational, They came out of the kitchen piping hot and remained that way for the duration of the meal. The waitstaff and bartender were real pros and took excellent care of us. Our tab came to $155, including a 20% tip, which surprised us somewhat, but the quality and portion size made up for it. Parking in a public lot next door made for easy access to the building, I would like to go back when the temperature allows us to eat outdoors. I highly recommend DeBlaze at 131.More infoDeBlaze at 131Price: Moderate• Italian• Downtown•4.5
- FFredNew York City •1 review4.0Dined on 24 Dec 2024We times at Jackson's for the first time since their remodel following the fire. The food has always been remains good. Our server was excellent. However, there is little to no ambiance as compared to the previous incarnation of Jackson's. This is highly unfortunate. The tables in the bar area and sadly in the main dining room are now cheap and cheap looking what looks like white veneer formica. Won't spend too much time on it, but it's difficult to feel as though it's a fine dining experience. It's understood that the new open floor seating fan is designed to handle more customers per turn. However, between the tables, the closeness of tables, and the lighting choices, there is really no sense of ambience. The entree prices have of course risen with inflation. However, it's difficult to justify those prices with the ambience issues discussed above. Great service. Fine food. Sadly, no longer a fine dining experience.More infoJacksons - SouthpointePrice: Expensive• Steakhouse• Canonsburg•4.5
