This warm and appealing gastropub has been renovated throughout to showcase an array of local antiques including a stunning array of Barraclough clocks, homage to John Barraclough himself, Clockmaker to the Brontes, who used to live in this very building in the Georgian era.We serve only food made using the freshest seasonal British produce and our menu changes through the weeks to reflect this. We have a custom-made Josper charcoal grill which is the hottest indoor grill available and used by the best restaurants in the country. My husband and I enjoyed an excellent Christmas lunch here today. It wasn't too noisy, despite some large groups there. The serving staff were friendly and helpful and the food was top class. The rooms were nicely decorated with muted colours for Christmas (nothing garish.) It was altogether a super experience.

First visit here with a friend who has been several times, I absolutely loved it, not eaten delicious food like that in a long time in a restaurant, it was outstanding. I will definitely be going again.very friendly staff, great value for your money.

I have been to the Box Tree many times. Yesterday was my best visit. Everything was superb. Plenty of staff working and all well trained. I go to far more Michelin starred restaurants than most people - perhaps 10 a year. Yesterday's lunch with 2 star standard. Let's hope you are properly recognised soon. Many thanks.

Eaten here several times and we are always blown away by the quality food and service. They've always gone above and beyond to look after us even when we've had our 2 Jack Rssells with us. You are missing out if you dint eat here. Gorgeous place for a romantic meal but also relaxed enough for families. Can't wait to go back.
