Best Organic Food Restaurants in Mount Eden

We selected French Roast as a place where three of us could catch up after years of not seeing each other. I am grateful for the staff letting us enjoy our happy hour selections and not rush us out. Would love to return soon for a full dinner, those eating entrees around us had delicious plates.

Ambience is great. Service was very professional. Food Wonderful! I had Lamb Chops and they were fabulous. Our reservation was for 2 but turned out family members who live in the area popped in to just have a drink which turned out to be dinner. The restaurant fit us into a tight booth which we were grateful to get. After all they were full and had no idea extra people would be coming. ( Nor did we ) We all had a great time. No drama on part of the restaurant. We appreciate their consideration. We will go back for sure.

Once I’ve made a reservation through OpenTable, I include special requests, such as seating preferences and hoping a favorite waiter will be working that night. I look forward to seeing if those details are acknowledged and fulfilled. From the moment I arrive, the experience begins: Am I greeted warmly by the receptionists, who seem genuinely happy to see me and eager to accommodate my requests? Is the maître d' cordial and welcoming? Is the waiter knowledgeable, personable, well-groomed, and engaging? A great waiter can make dining at their station a true pleasure, with a friendly demeanor and a smile that enhances the atmosphere. Then comes a key factor for me: pacing. When I order a cocktail—at Elea, a top-shelf gin cocktail costs $18 plus a $3 surcharge, plus tax and tip (over $50 for two drinks)—I want to savor it. Rushing me to order food detracts from the enjoyment of such a treat. Thankfully, Elea strikes the perfect balance, allowing guests to relax and enjoy each stage of the meal. Of course, the food itself is central. At Elea, the dishes are flavorful, portions are satisfying, and every course feels thoughtfully prepared. The bus staff are attentive without being intrusive, waiting until I’ve truly finished before clearing the table. Dessert is offered but never pushed—a subtle touch that speaks to the restaurant’s professionalism. Elea excels at making the entire experience seamless and enjoyable, leaving guests eager to return. Their team achieves their ultimate goal: creating an atmosphere so welcoming and well-executed that you look forward to coming back again and again.

My husband and I had New Year's Day brunch here today. I had not dined here for 20 years as I had moved from the neighborhood. I can truthfully say that that quality has not changed since Le Monde opened in 1998. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was festive. Our waiter, Chance, was also top notch. I will be back!
