Best Restaurants for Outdoor Dining in Little Italy / University Village

My husband and I came here as part of our wedding anniversary trip and they were all so sweet. We had a reservation (definitely recommend) and unfortunately we had to wait a little bit after our reservation time. But they were very attentive to us & even gave us a free appetizer & dessert. The food & drinks were absolutely delicious. I could not recommend the food enough!!! They were so kind & so generous!!

We were the 1st to show up today. The Maitre’d was Dressed Impeccable and greeted Us immediately. Asked us to have a seat at the Bar and we’d be seated in 10-15mins. When we were, they offered to Check our Coats. Literally EVERYONE wished my Daughter a Happy Birthday 🥳 The Ambiance & Decor is Absolutely Beautiful 😍 including the Bathroom. Our waitress made great suggestions for Drinks, Appetizers & Main Courses. We ordered Based off our taste buds and Her Recommendations ( My Daughter is Vegetarian) EVERYTHING WAS DELICIOUS!! The wait staff was attentive with cleaning the table consistently while ALSO wishing my Baby Happy Birthday 🎈 Both the Manager & General Manager came over to ask about our Meal & Experience and I couldn’t help but RAVE ABOUT EVERYONE, the Service & FOOD. I would give a rating of 10 out of 10💥 the Mommy/Daughter Date ended with the most Delectable Dessert & Sparkler. I can’t thank you enough. It was very emotional bcus My Son/Her ONLY SIBLING passed (Car Accident) and HIS HEAVENLY BIRTHDAY 😇 iS TOMORROW🙇🏽‍♀️ Yes a Day after hers. We tried this restaurant last night and had the best time. The food was amazing, but what was really amazing was our server Rene and the staff. The staff was so on top of it, and the food came out so fast. It was our friend's birthday, and we were trying to surprise her. We had ordered a cake but needed to figure out a way to get it there without her noticing. When my other friend called the restaurant, they were able to hold the cake for us in the morning and then bring it to the table as a surprise. Rene was already informed by staff, so when we arrived, he was already in on the plan. At the end of dinner, the cake was brought out, and it was such a nice surprise. Special thanks to Rene and the staff at Quartino—you are all amazing.

What a treat to rediscover RL after moving from Chicago a few years ago! On a bitter cold and snowy day, we decided on a last minute late lunch and had a marvelous meal. Our server, Amanda was outstanding, personable and enthusiastically answered my husband's questions about the walleye, which he throughly enjoyed. It was light and flavorful and deemed as good as (though he meant better) than the shore lunches he had while fishing in Canada. I enjoyed the off the menu special crab cake that was sumptuous and delicious to the last bite....better than the ordinary restaurant fare. Though we usually like to read the dessert menu and then pass so we can smugly congratulate ourselves on our willpower, we gave in this day when Amanda told us about the peanut butter cheesecake-like texture presented as a small cake shape and drizzled with chocolate. Boy if there was ever a time to deviate from our cautious approach to desserts, this was it! This was how do they describe it, "smack your mama good?" That was it. So good we talked about it on our way back home to Michigan...the entire visit this time renewed our love for Chicago and the little moments like this that mean so much. A great way to spend some time during a classic urban winter snow storm. Thank you Amanda and the talented RL chef!
