Atria's History The original Atria's in Mt. Lebanon was owned by Italian immigrant Joe Atria and dates to 1930. It began as a grocery store, then expanded into a barbershop and dry cleaners. In 1933 prohibition ended and Atria's began to sell beer. Along came food to feed the hungry - both highbrow attorneys and blue-collar working men alike. In 1998, Pittsburgh natives Pat and Nancy McDonnell transformed Joe Atria's historical Mt.
