Best Restaurants for Outdoor Dining in Sullivan's Island

This was our second visit to Coast Bar & Grill and it was every bit as good. The atmosphere is welcoming and charming as was our wait person. My husband enjoyed his shrimp cocktail accompanied by a moderately food sauce. The shrimp were perfectly done. Continuing with the shrimp his main course was a very well prepared shrimp and grit and included Taso ham, bell peppers ( which could have been cooked a bit more). It is a repeat for him. I started my meal a good sized portion of expertly cooked PEI mussels. The only thing missing was some bread to sop of the excellent cooking liquid (next time I will ask). I chose the fish of the day mahi mahi which was grilled and was accompanied by tasty parmesan mashed potatoes and veggies. We each had a glass of New Zealand sauvignon blanc, a good choice as it cut through the richness of our choices. We will return on our next visit to Charleston, SC!

Great atmosphere, food, and service. We regularly go to Tavern & Table in the warmer months and sit on the dock level with our dog. We sometimes forget what a nice experience their inside dining is. The vibe is casual sophistication, and the food is always well-prepared and enjoyable.

Our favorite restaurant in Charleston. Every meal is magnificent. We celebrate special occasions there so we’ll see you next year.
