"A restaurant and bar located within the new University Arms hotel on Parker’s Piece, Cambridge.Parker’s Tavern serves modern British comfort food sourced from field, fen and England’s seas. Very good food and service in an excellent if, slightly, noisy venue. Only negative comments were that the light levels and font size made it difficult to read the menu's, although this in itself made it easier to accept the maitre D's recommendations and generated hilarity as we tried to illuminate with mobile phones. Fortunately my guests were Greeks from Crete so were perfectly used to sit side saddle on the chairs which could have been imported direct from there. They are not comfortable however rustic they may look, Maybe ok for well upholstered younger bums but a pain for us older olg gits whose glutus maximii have faded away.

Quite simply, this is one of the best restaurants in the world. The food is incredible. Every course was absolutely delicious, the ambience of the dining room is unfussy and welcoming. The staff are all friendly and efficient. And Brett Graham, the chef, takes his time to come to every table, explaining the dishes and chatting to his customers all through the night. Incredible. Up there with Core and The Fat Duck as my favourite restaurants in London, and one of the best dining experiences of my life. Stunning. I’m already planning a return.

Lovely setting, beautiful savouries and scones. For the price there were far too many sweet treats- these were lovely but became simply inedible due to the sheer size and amount. The amount of pistachio crème on the mince pie was somewhat sickly and I think substance over style would be more appreciated. Our waiters were lovely though, and nothing was too much. Also- it would be nice to have proper boxes to take sweet treats home in as again, it was simply impossible to eat that much sugar in one sitting.

Wonderful food in a lovely atmosphere. We had the seven course tasting menu and it was a great experience - beautifully presented with unusual flavour combinations that really worked! I would have given 5 stars for the service too, were it not for the fact we had to wait WAY too long for our coffee. It turned out that our (two) coffees were delayed by a large cocktail order from the private dining room. I guess they could do with another member of staff or simply train one of the waiters to make coffee.
