Best Restaurants for Birthdays in Lansing/Leavenworth

Valentine's date night. Reservation for 6:30. Walked right in and was seated almost immediately. Having not been here before, (we are new to KC) our server, Noah, was fantastic, explaining the menu and sharing his favorites with us. He was engaging and knowledgeable. Ordered the Brussels Sprouts as an appetizer and they were fantastic. Followed that up with a shared Champagne Fish and Chips, and a small wedge salad. The fish was cooked to perfection. The chef uses a rice flour and, you guessed it, champagne to make the batter extra light and crispy. Topped it off with their house made Beignets which, I have to admit, rival anything you'll get in NOLA, including the infamous Cafe Du Monde - they are no joke, 100% legit! Happy we found this place. Everything was spot on. Will definitely be back!

Our server, Katlin, was wonderful! the new baker potato souffle was very tasty. very glad it's staying on the menu. His steak was cool but said it still tasted good. My sweetheart pasta was cold so not as tasty. Needs cheese. The chocolate creme brulee was very good but would be great if warm. Maybe our food was held too long before released to be served

We had an amazing waiter Matt. He was very attentive, friendly and knew a lot about the food. Our food was amazing my husband had the 24oz steak and I had the scallops. It was all cooked just as requested and the sides Matt suggested paired very well. We also had the oysters Rockefeller as our appetizer and they were delicious. We plan on returning and asking for Matt to be our waiter again.

Our experience was terrific from start to finish. We were a few minutes late because of traffic but we were seated without much delay - which we expected. We had great seats in a booth on the back side of the bar. Our server, Regine, was perfectly attentive to us and answered our every question. The food was terrific, as well. We are glad that this is our annual tradition for Valentine’s Day.

This was our first visit to The Brass Onion. We all agreed the food was delicious, service was excellent and prices were reasonable. There were 5 in our party and we each had a different entree as well as appetizers, drinks and desserts. Spencer was our server and he made sure we were well taken care of. He was the best. We were celebrating a birthday and the birthday person received a free dessert with candles and a card. I highly recommend this restaurant and we will be back!
