We wanted to create a place where a night out with the kids didn’t mean food adults had to suffer through or a night out with the parents didn’t mean a stuffy place where kids had to wear a scratchy clip-on tie. Shinsei is just that: a neighborhood gathering place with date night appeal. But not so unexpected that you won’t be able to decipher the menu or recognize your favorite dish. Our signature poppers, for instance, are a sophisticated mix of late night bar food and sumptuous finger food with a distinctly Asian flair.

    Three of us experienced one of the best and most unique dinners we have had in a long time. We were celebrating a birthday and she remarked that it was the best birthday she had ever had. We had appetizers and entrees and each thing was better than the the one before. (Huge thumbs up to Leek salad and Swiss chard Tempura--trust me) The service was impeccable and timely.     Wife wanted to go to Al Biernat's for our 24th anniversary, and it was exceptional. We were greeted at the door and shown to our table immediately. Our server took great care of us and checked in often to ensure we were well taken care of. My wife had the filet and it was extremely delicious and tender, and my surf and turf did not disappoint. The sides were delicious and there was enough to satisfy any appetite. I found it to be well worth the price and a great overall value and experience.
