- RRaymondSouth Carolina •6 reviews5.0Dined 1 day agoCharlie's has been consistently good since we started going there some years ago. We went there for our anniversary dinner last night and had a lovely evening. The staff and management were very helpful and the only reason I am not going with 5 stars all the way, is because the desert menu was like all desert menus these days: nothing hot except bread and butter pudding, maybe the creme brûlée. It's so hard these days to find a restaurant that actually makes deserts like Grand Marnier Soufflé's with a creme Anglaise, or crepes suzette or anything that involves any preparation at all and is not served with whipped cream out of a can. Besides that, my wife had very nice Swordfish and I had the breast of duck and we enjoyed them with an unusual Chenin Blanc called Love from the Loire coastal region. The orange mousse in a chocolate cup was as expected and we could have given it a miss.More infoCharlie's Coastal Bistro (L'etoile Verte)Price: Expensive• Seafood• Hilton Head Island•4.9

Our Server brought warm bread with olive oil and balsamic with the water. The Cakebread Chardonnay was very nice. She ordered the grouper and a mixed green salad while I ordered the wedge salad and seafood stew. The salads were large portions and served as good appetizers. Her grouper was beautiful and tasted accordingly. I've loved seafood stews - coppino, boulibaise, etc. since I first had one in San Francisco. Pearl's May River Seafood stew is as good as I've had - in a word Wonderful. The shrimp, scallops, and fish were all first quality, but it's the broth that makes a stew and this orange saffron laced recipe is some of the best I've ever tasted. Come hungry. The portions are substantial!More infoThe PearlPrice: Moderate• Seafood• Bluffton•4.8

We were given a complimentary Prosecco and a taste of three recommended wines for our meal choices. I chose the Chianti. Dinner was terrific, my veal chop was perfect. My favorite desert at Ombra is there Affogato. Great night.More infoOMBRA Cucina ItalianaPrice: Moderate• Italian• Hilton Head Island•4.7
- EEdNew York City •11 reviews5.0Dined 6 days agoCelebrated our 45th anniversary with an excellent meal here. Our hostess brought us to a nice table in dining room and a little card wishing a happy anniversary and stating we were getting a dessert on them! Michael our waiter started us out with complimentary mini champagne flutes too! The appetizer of flash-fried shrimp and calamari was honestly one the best appys that we have ever tasted. Highly recommend! Our wedge and garden salads were fresh and plentiful. Michael assisted with our choice Entrees of petit filet mignon and signature WiseGuys meatloaf made with ground ribeye and sirloin. Both along with 4 sides were more than we could handle but simply delicious. Service was attentive with water glasses refilled often and food delivered and plates removed with perfect timing. We hardly were able to share a well presented lite specialty dessert. All in all a wonderful meal and memorable celebration of a long marriage. ❤️More infoWiseGuys Steak & LoungePrice: Moderate• Steakhouse• Hilton Head Island•4.7
