- SScottNew York City •6 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoHattie’s comfort food never misses the mark. Parking was easy for our guests. We had great food, great service, and the room with the beautiful bar was perfect for our group. A great place to eat before an event at the MVP Arena. We’ll be back!More infoHattie's AlbanyPrice: Moderate• American• Albany•4.5
- CCatherineNew York City •1 review5.0Dined 2 days agoHad 1 pm reservations for a Friday lunch and were seated promptly. Dining room was full which was a sign of its popularity. The dining room was nicely decorated and the table settings and tablecloths were a quality touch. Nathan, our server was exceedingly polite and welcoming: a professional in all respects. We ordered the Chicken pot pie. I noticed that no side salad was available on the menu and asked Nathan if one were available. He said it wasn’t a problem at all and the side salads provided were perfect. The pot pie was served in a a tall, cup-like dish, sitting in a lower, wider dish, topped with a puff-pastry biscuit on top. We actually weren’t sure how to eat it and Nathan explained we should remove the pastry, pour the pot pie into the larger dish, and put the pastry on top. The instructions were very helpful and given in such a way as to not embarrass us, much to Nathan’s credit. The pot pie was delicious with generously-sized portions of white meat. We ordered a side of breads, a small basket with a variety of rolls. All were freshly made and tasty. We finished with apple pie a la mode. The pie was also freshly-made and delicious, with a fluffy crust totally different than mass-produced pies. Red Lion is definitely worth the visit: both the food and staff are exceptional and the Inn is just full of character. Make sure you make reservations!More infoThe Red Lion InnPrice: Expensive• Contemporary American• Stockbridge•4.4
- TToniNew York City •5 reviews4.0Dined on 27 Dec 2024We booked a table here prior to attending a show at the Palace Theater. We absolutely loved it. My first impression was that their beer, wine and spirits list (including crafty cocktails) is probably one of the most comprehensive I’ve ever seen. They give you a basket of warm homemade pretzel nuggets to start. Menu is very creative, with lots of interesting options. Their onion soup is some of the best I’ve had with its rich flavor and cheesy goodness (I hate when they skimp on the cheese!). Our server Colleen was very efficient and friendly. She had quite a few tables and she managed them effortlessly. The bar scene was hopping and looked like it might be an after work spot in Albany. Nice bar, nice vibe. Would definitely return.More infodp An American BrasseriePrice: Expensive• American• Albany•4.4
- DDorotaVIPNew York State •10 reviews4.0Dined on 18 Oct 2024The ambiance and food are always great here - not the issue. The service is book or busy, and this visit was more of a bust. The server was likely on the newer side, but was clearer not trained in the art of customer service. Lack of communication, not checking in to see if we needed anything (had to flag him down to get more drinks, nothing after our dinner was delivered), and no birthday acknowledgment even though my reservation called it out and I told him before the birthday girl arrived. Will be back, but hopefully a friendlier server.More infoThe Standard Restaurant & LoungePrice: Moderate• American• Albany•4.2
