Yesterday, we celebrated our anniversary with friends at an incredible restaurant that doubled as an opera house! The professional performers blew us away with their talent. We loved opera. As opera enthusiasts, we were particularly impressed by the stunning performance of Eugene Onegin by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, sung in Russian. Thank you so much for an unforgettable experience.More infoThe Victor Cafe - PhiladelphiaPrice: Moderate• Italian• South Philly•4.9
- KKarenPhiladelphia County •3 reviews5.0Dined todayThe restaurant is cozy and welcoming, with a partially open kitchen. The attention to detail and innovation they put into their food is just as elevated as Chef Rucker’s Rivertwice. Every bite was delicious and presented simply, highlighting the gorgeousness of the dish. If I had to pick, the swordfish belly tartare and fried whole bass were favorites. The drinks were creative and strong, with perfectly clear ice cubes! We were so full but had to have the desserts, which as always, were light and perfect, simultaneously sophisticated and comforting. The only downside is we couldn’t possibly try everything, but we can’t wait to go back! Seating at the raw bar is a great vantage point and also cozy, casual and intimate. The staff were so knowledgeable, friendly and attentive, clearly well trained, excited to know us and welcoming. Our table for 2 in a quiet corner of the cozy intimate dining room was perfect. Eric was our primary server provided so much care and attention we felt like we were his only table. He was supported by a team of 4 others who were equally attentive. The wine pairings were superb. There aren't enough adjectives to describe the exquisitely prepared plates. This was truly an exceptional evening right here in our city of Philadelphia!!More infoVetri Cucina - PhiladelphiaPrice: Very Expensive• Italian• Center City•4.9
