Best Restaurants for Foodies in York

We all left in a food coma!!! The food was delicious and the Buffet was like something from a carribean 5 * hotel. The staff make it lovely experience. If you like delicious meat then this is the place for you. We would go back!

Lovely, relaxed atmosphere, with great food, cocktails and service. One of the best places we’ve been to in York over 5 visits here! Fantastic place to enjoy a celebratory meal. Highly recommend!

To say it was the first Monday night in January the staff were very attentive, professional and the food came promptly. The food is outstanding- but nearly £4 for a small Diet Coke is extortionate.

While we were visiting York we wanted to have a meal with a special friend and bring our dogs. What a great choice. A table that was slightly to one side so we weren’t in close proximity to anyone else. Very friendly and accommodating staff and delicious food and wine. Also a very relaxed atmosphere so no pressure to hurry and very reasonably priced. We had a wonderful evening. Infact we liked it so much we went back the next day for lunch!

Our experience at the Refectory was outstanding. The ambience and overall feel of the restaurant was relaxing and chilled. The food was simply some of the best we have ever had (now I really understand what an explosion of flavours means when they say it on Masterchef). Prices I would say were mid to high but the food was worth every single penny. Staff were attentive without being overly so & myself and my husband will definitely return when we visit York again.
