The Hop Vine formerly the ‘Royal Hotel’ was built in 1874 and was the main stopping off point for goods being transported to and from the old Turnpike road the A59. The Royal as it was known has served the community and travellers alike. To the rear of the building in our historic Cobbled Garden you will find our own brewery housed in the stables which were used for the horses and stage coaches as they passed through the village. From Ales to YPA’s, to Blonde beers we are a small producer using primary English hops brewing exclusively in house for The Hop Vine and our sister pub the Legh Arms.Our countryside sister the Legh Arms is our latest addition to the family and is situated in the pretty hamlet of Mere Brow. Here we serve our trademark delicious home produced quality food and excellent home brewed ales.     We celebrated New Year's Day and our daughters 40th birthday in style. Venue was very swish, service was great and all nine of our meals very good. The menu is good and amazingly moderately priced, especially for a Bank Holiday. Highly recommended

    Another fantastic Sunday lunch at Blacklock Manchester. Great food and lovely friendly service from Abi, Amii, Peter, and the team. Highly recommend the all-in roast, which comes with huge Yorkshire Puddings, lots of vegetables including roast potatoes (nearly as good as mine 😉), melt in the mouth beef, lamb, and pork, and a beautifully rich gravy. Save room for their bread and butter pudding - perfect comfort food. Our 6th visit to Blacklock Manchester after many years frequenting the Soho branch in London. Very pleased to have Blacklock in Manchester and wishing you all the best for 2025. Highly recommend!

    Excellent good , can really taste the quality and the flavours , would definitely return to try the rest of the menu , tiramisu is worth the hype was stunning light and not too heavy perfect to finish off a meal
