The Hind's Head is a traditional country village pub and restaurant serving freshly made food and quality local cask ales. We are a community owned and managed free house in a very picturesque Shropshire village. We have the more traditional areas of the pub with wood burning stoves, as well as a lovely restaurant and welcoming orangery for all our guests to enjoy food, drinks and good company. We offer two wine lists as well as a great selection of cask ales, lagers and ciders. The views from the front of the pub have a perfect picture post card view of St Chad's Church in the centre of the village. While we offer traditional pub classics like freshly made pies and fish and chips, we also regularly offer specials that our chefs create weekly and do a lovely Sunday roast dinner that is extremely popular. On Wednesday evenings we do different foods and events, please call to confirm the theme to ensure it's what your looking for it could be Tapas, Italian, a quiz night.

Excellent service (particularly from Katie), very attentive, professional and friendly. Food choice was great (even for veggies, with a separate vegan menu). Never disappoints, keep up the excellence.

We had such a fantastic experience at Hawksmoor last night! Service, food, and atmosphere were all excellent. We took advantage of the BYOB Monday offer, which, if you're on a budget, helps lessen the blow to the wallet, as corkage is only £5 per bottle. As always though, you get what you pay for, and in this case what we got was really fantastic steak, with smoked salmon, caesar salad, and potted beef also amongst the highlights. Our server was brilliant, present and chatty without ever intruding. Same goes for the sommelier, who was really lovely. They were both great with my daughter, who is only 2, and had a lovely night also. Thanks very much for a great pre-Christmas get together!

The staff were lovely this includes the chef. We booked our table with our requirements (veggie). We were hoping to have the Christmas menu but the veggie option. When we arrived they told us they didn't have it available as they didn't know, and the nut roats takes quite a bit of time to prepare. However, the chef offered us a veggie curry as an alternative, which was lovely. We are happy for the alternative, but was looking forward to a christmas meal (as we were doing the santa safari). If you read this please don't see this as a negative, I would just like it noted. The staff were lovely and service was good. When there was an issue they came with a solution. However we did notify them well in advance of our requirements.

From arriving, it was a fabulous set up, the lounge where we we had cocktails and canapés was lovely, then after half an hour we were taken to the restaurant upstairs. Course after delicious course arrived and were beautifully presented and explained. We thoroughly enjoyed them BUT as soon as we took the last bite and put the cutlery down, the plate was whisked away before we’d even chewed and swallowed. I did comment each time ‘ that’s too quick’ and it meant that we felt we were on a conveyor belt and rushed. We’d driven up from Kent ( booking an hotel for the night) and arrived at the hotel literally 40 minutes before our seating time and so we were wanting to relax but this meant we were rushed. And as soon as we finished our last course with wine still in our glasses, they wanted to move us back to the lounge for coffee and petit fours but I refused saying I wanted to finish my wine. As we commented to each other and compared it it to Aulis/Raby Hunt/ Frog/ L’enclume/ Roux at Landau/ Gavroche/ Fat Duck etc.. we decided this was far far too rushed and at that very moment I got my phone out and booked Aulis for our 5th time. Nice though Opheem was, I think we’ll stick to our Aktar at Home deliveries that we’ve had for the last 4/5 yrs and have them relaxing at home. The staff were excellent but the management have decided to maximise revenue by processing customers through - very sad.
