Blacklock is a modern version of the Great British chophouse. Set in an old brothel, we take the best meat in the country from the award winning farmer and butcher Philip Warren in Cornwall. We cook chops simply over our real charcoal grill with a little help from vintage Blacklock irons and serve it all up alongside cocktails that give back and wine on tap in our atmospheric subterranean chop mecca. On Sundays we serve a Sunday Roast almost as good as Mum's.Bookings and Walk-Ins available:Monday - Friday 12:00 - 15:00pmMonday - Friday 17:00 - 22:30pmBookings up to 8 guests (Mon-Thurs)Bookings up to 6 guests (Friday)Saturday: 12:00 - 23:00Bookings for lunch and pre-theatre from 12noon to 23:00Bookings up to 6 guestsSunday 12:00 - 20:00Bookings all day for up to 6 guests

The Ivy restaurant has been a firm fixture on London’s dining and social scene since 1917. The restaurant and private room upstairs are the epitome of real glamour. A shimmering central dining bar in the restaurant draws admiring attention, and the signature harlequin stained-glass windows, oak panelling and striking contemporary art collection ensure the longevity of this very British of dining institutions. Executive Chef Gary Lee creates balanced seasonal menus, featuring Ivy classics, but accounting for today’s tastes, incorporating more Asian dishes, salads and vegetables, and the advent of a “sea and shells” section. Director Fernando Peire leads a strong and experienced team to deliver the unfaltering service for which The Ivy has become well known over the years. The Ivy welcomes customers without reservations at the central dining bar, where the A La Carte and Set menus are both served.

Well it's safe to say that it's definitely worth all the hype! After booking a good few months in advance we finally came down for our Christmas Sunday dinner! The staff there are super friendly and always checking in and cleaning tables, and the atmosphere was incredibly cosy! When the food came, the man was really lovely and explained where each piece of meat was before leaving us to enjoy. The food was unbelievable I have honestly never had food like it, especially a Sunday roast upto that standard! I have never had beef with such flavour, and the Pork was the best I have ever had. We where both too stuffed for dessert but wow was it great! My only nitpick is that my cocktail was tiny, but it was very strong. Personally I prefer my drinks a bit bigger and less strong but that's a preference! Overall it was the best roast I have ever had! Would definitely recommend!

Took mum to Hawksmoor Knightsbridge for her birthday (and mine of Xmas day). The starters were fantastic; scallops, prawn cocktail, native lobster, Yorkshire pud with beef, all delicious. 4 fillet steaks for the mains; rare to medium rare with fries and sides such as spinach, greens, mac n cheese, and cows in blankets. Whilst all 4 of the steaks were heading towards medium and slightly overdone, the sides were delicious. This is where the restaurant came into its own; our waiter - Milo came to check how the food was- delicious we said and then hesitates… but actually the steaks were slightly over done. Milo without questioning it offered to bring 4 more immediately? We explained we were heading to the theatre so didn’t have time and they tasted delicious so it was ok. We thought nothing more of it and ate them regardless. But no the restaurant dealt with this how only the best restaurants do, they didn’t criticise us, moan, point out we had eaten the steaks and they had offered fresh ones- without question they took them off the bill -without us asking. Fantastic customer service. Milo was just so kind to us, made mums birthday meal lovely, and brought mum and I a surprise dessert with a candle despite this. The atmosphere was great, the deserts were also delicious and aside from the unfortunate steak experience on this occasion we will definitely be back. I am a farmer and this is a top steak restaurant in London using the best produce and beef cuts.

First time at The Lore of the Land. Blown away by the quality of food, wine and service. We had a group of 7 friends dining for lunch, had an enjoyable pre lunch drink in the bar, and then an amazing 3.5 hours of incredible lunch experience. Particular call out for our waitress, Cher, who served us for the entire 3.5 hours. Great knowledge of the dishes, good sense of humour, and really made the experience top drawer for us. Definitely going again soon.
