We are a family owned business located in the centre of York by the River Ouse. Our bar and bistro has gained a reputation for a wide range of beers and spirits coupled with an excellent selection of wines and champagnes. Close to The Grand Opera House and city centre, Plonkers is an ideal place to meet with friends or colleagues for a relaxed drink.Weekends at Plonkers can have a party atmosphere where you can relax after work with friends. Absolutely fantastic experience. Faultless service from a lovely young lady Giulia I believe. As soon as heard it was a 50th birthday meal for my husband, a card was produced and a complimentary ice cream with candle in for us to share. Food was really really delicious, beautifully presented, everything hot and brought together. Huge selection of beverages and knowledgeable staff. Stunning venue. Cannot praise it enough. Will definitely make the trip over to return in the future.

We had been told about The Star Inn The City on the river and we weren’t disappointed. We had the Market Menu. Everything was lovely and tasty. The staff were very friendly and answered any questions we asked. We will certainly go again.

Had a lovely meal last night. The burger was huge and cooked just right. Our waitress Liz, is a lovely young lady. Such good value too.
