The Sandboy was built in 1908, originally tending to the needs of the railway, quarry and locals. Since then The Sandboy has been a hub of activity, supplying locals with a friendly, charming place to relax with family and friends. With Mintlyn Crematorium close by, The Sandboy has always taken pride in providing a place for those to reminisce and celebrate the lives of their loved lost ones. The Sandboy is close to King's Lynn and the popular destinations of Sandringham and Bawsey Country Park which was originally created by sand quarrying operations. Covering over 180 acres including lush woodland and sparkling lakes, Bawsey Country Park is the perfect place to relax, unwind and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Visit with family or friends and get closer to nature, as you explore the many pathways through the trees, and around the lakes, finishing up at The Sandboy for a cold or warming drink.

Very sweet serving staff who had had absolutely no training in how to wait at table. Not their fault but more experienced staff standing around without giving them any help or advice. Food generally ok although my pork ribeye was inedibly tough.

I would definitely recommend a visit to the Bawsey Sandboy. This is a very new experience - we visited last Sunday and were told it was the second time they had done the carvery. The pub is clean and well staffed with a good selection of drinks. There was pleasant ambient piano music from a live pianist playing a baby grand, which really felt special. The dining area where the carvery was served is a work in progress but we had a good table and the food itself was absolutely delicious, good quality and well presented. We all enjoyed ourselves, and thought the staff were perfect. Attentive without being in your face, and polite and personable. We look forward to returning.
