Best Restaurants for Local Ingredients in Old Town Scottsdale

Delightful choices, perfect for late afternoon/early dinner dining in a beautiful garden setting. Seasonal vegetables and meats put together in fresh creative ways. Hummus appetizer with homemade blue corn chips a must. Also the desert fruit tamale with guava sorbet and coconut a surprisingly delicious ending.

We chose to have Christmas dinner at Mowry & Cotton because they offered extensive ala carte choices in addition to an appealing fixed price menu. Everyone enjoyed the dishes they ordered, and portions were so generous that leftovers had to be boxed and taken home. Accessibility was a factor for the oldest member of our group, so were seated on the main level. A ramp provided easy access to the lower level of the dining room and the outdoor patio seating. This was our first visit to Mowry & Cotton. We all agreed that we would return to sample non-holiday brunch, lunch and dinner options ... and we look forward to dining on the patio.

J&G is our favorite place for special occasions. Third time there this year. They were overrun on Christmas Eve. The bar area was woefully understaffed. Our table was ready 30 minutes late. But our server Jeff was fantastic and made up for the very rough start in the bar. And they comped our drinks from the bar without prompting. The bar server is great - but he was alone with full dinner tables set up for Christmas Eve and a crush of folks waiting for tables. I felt sorry for him. Jeff told us that it was the busiest he’s ever seen it in 11 years. Management should have seen this coming. It the food was great and we enjoyed ourselves. We will be back.

My family likes Italian food we found La Locanda and we love the food, is amazing and the service is always great.

We went to W & W with our family of 7 after church on Christmas Eve and could not have had a better experience! The service provided by Tammy was beyond amazing! She was attentive and very helpful in offering suggestions! Most importantly, she was kind and gracious to the three small children at our table. We will come back not only for the food and ambience, but also for Tammy’s service. Happy new year!
