- DDavidNew York City •1 review5.0Dined 3 days agoHands down best food we’ve eaten in Seattle. Pork belly, mackerel, fried mushrooms, and the “smooth” cocktail. All to die for. Also, Vela was a delightful server!!More infoSophonPrice: Expensive• Cambodian• Phinney Ridge•4.7
- JCJohnCVancouver / British Columbia •3 reviews4.0Dined 5 days agoThis was our first Omakase experience. First I’ll start with the two minor negatives- we were seated around the corner of the bar, which just didn’t feel as comfortable stuck up against the wall. The soup with mushrooms had a few small pieces of grit in it. The fish was incredible though- so fresh and perfectly seasoned. I don’t think I’ve ever had fish that good! Sushi will never be the same! The service was perfect. The chef was positive and friendly. Be prepared to shell out though- 3 people with 3 cocktails, hot tea and no dessert was $600! It was a special experience for us- and the birthday note on the bar was a nice touch.More infoSushi Kappo Tamura - Omakase at Sushi BarPrice: Very Expensive• Sushi• Lake Union / Eastlake•4.8

The area had no power after the storm, but the restaurant was on backup generators fully up and operational. Whiskey lovers in our group really appreciated the staffs high expertise level re whiskey, and the availability of so many different bourbons and whisk(e)ys. All in all, a great experience.
