Hawksmoor Wood Wharf is housed in an eco-friendly floating pavilion in a new riverside neighbourhood in Canary Wharf. Gently rising and falling with the tide, the main restaurant at dock-level is joined by a 120-seat waterside bar. Both include terraces with views across the water (squint your eyes and you might just see the ghosts of great ships laden with mighty lengths of timber that used to swing in and unload there). There's also a private dining room for up to 20 people named after the local legend Queenie Watts, a singer, songwriter, actor and self-confessed bawdy landlady (think Peggy Mitchell meets Joni Mitchell).     We usually go to our local pub in Kidbrooke for our Christmas meal, but having been to The Hare and Billet on several occasions for an excellent Sunday roast, we thought we would give it a go this year and we were not disappointed. We pre-ordered our food from their set menu along with a couple of glasses of champagne. We felt welcome upon arrival and the table was ready. The champagne came out very promptly followed by starters which were delicious. The mains and desserts were also served promptly and tasted great. The chips we had ordered were a bit odd but didn’t detract from the overall experience. I really appreciate the service, which is always confident and direct, the guys know how to do their jobs properly and are up for a chat. Would recommend and will return.

    Awesome evening. Incredible food including possibly the best steak ever….🤔 I eat steak anywhere and everywhere around the world and i honestly believe this really was best ever. Prime bone in was to die for 👌🏼 Service from Prometheus & Louis was exemplary also. Wonderful experience, see you real soon ❤️

    The restaurant has a great atmosphere, the staff were friendly and accommodating, the food was really flavoursome, plenty of options and big portions, (I had the seafood risotto, surprisingly plenty of seafood). We ordered a cocktail which was not to our liking and the staff kindly let us change to an alternate, removing the others off the bill. I’d definitely come again!
