Best Restaurants with a Notable Wine List in West Norwood

I have wanted to eat here for a while and got the chance this week. It was everything I had hoped for and more... Seasonal menu with great choice and the cookery absolutely on point. What's lovely is that there are four courses with choices on each course which works for me better than a tasting menu where the diner doesn't have choice. Everything I had tasted and looked amazing. You can tell its based on classical French roots...the core ingredient is the star and is not 'messed about with'. The associated sauces, garnish, textures all compliment it. Great wine list and a very good range of wines by the glass which works well if you have four courses with the choices supported by knowledgeable but unpretentious sommeliers. Good food is one thing but its the service and ambience that makes a restaurant you want to return to. I definitely will be returning whenever I can. Fantastic food and wine in an elegant but unstuffy environment with knowledgeable, cheerful and perfectly attentive staff. Thank you!

The best food experience in a long time, the waiting staff was courteous and very knowledgeable with wine and olive oil recommendations. Food is full of flavour and highly recommend a couple of starters, a pasta to share between two and main course each. We tried the prawn and 3 pepper linguine for pasta, monkfish and grilled squid as mains with few starter and star of the menu bread and olive oil taster. Worth mentioning the calm and slow pace of bringing our food, did not make us feel rushed in anyway! for 2 of us we had the table for over 2 hours 30 mins, which is great as you don’t get to see that in London these days. We finally got round to trying this restaurant having lived opposite for FOUR YEARS! The staff are so attentive and inviting, we were greeted with two glasses of Prosecco as we were celebrating an anniversary. We ate meatballs, fritto misto, carbonara and pizza - all very very good! The pizza in particular was lovely. A nice thin crisp base and delicious sauce. We also shared a tiramisu - oh my goodness! One of the best. It got a bit noisy but the restaurant was full, as always, and it didn’t take away from our experience. 10/10, will absolutely be coming back.

This place is pretty discreetly located, but once you know, it is super easy to find, and is literally next door / under the tube station. Lovely and atmospheric, well renovated, food was ample and well presented, as was the beer and the wine. London prices. We would go again.
