- SSolSan Diego •5 reviews5.0Dined 1 day agoThe entire experience was wonderful. We went to dine for my wife's birthday. We arrived early and asked if we could be seated. The hostess accommodated and we were sat near the kitchen. Which my son enjoyed, because he could see the "magic". The cocktails were delicious. Appetizer of Roasted Oysters and Bone Marrow was fantastic. The breadcrumbs on the oysters was fun. I ordered the Shrimp Linguine, my son ordered the Rigatoni, my wife ordered the Halibut. All were delicious and perfectly cooked. Even the breadcrumbs added to each dish. Which was interesting, since they were on the Appetizer. Okay. No big deal. For dessert, we ordered the Chocolate, (it wasn't a cake. More like a pie?) It was tasty, my wife and son said. But, far too sweet for me. There was salt added to the top of the chocolate, which was okay, but made it bitter. The restaurant even provided a small ice cream with a birthday candle. That was sweet and awesome. The only thing was, there were the breadcrumbs again. The same ones from the appetizer and the entrees. Once was cute and tasty. Twice was interesting. A third time was a little overkill and made it fall flat. All in all, the evening was great. My wife was so happy. We all were. Thank you.More infoHerb & SeaPrice: Moderate• Californian• Encinitas•4.6

- GGuyLos Angeles •16 reviews5.0Dined 5 days agoA wonderful experience! Went with my wife to Valentine’s Day. She was immediately charmed by the relaxed ambience and then blown away by the five-course meal. The ingredients and taste combinations were delicious. I don’t drink so they paired each course with perfect no-alcoholic drinks . My wife’s food was paired with very interesting alcoholic beverages which enhanced her courses. Staff was excellent: smart, down-to-earth and attentive. Highly Recommended!More infoJeune et JoliePrice: Very Expensive• Contemporary French• Carlsbad•4.9

Both meals were perfectly cooked - lobster tail with risotto & string beans and filet mignon with potato gratin & asparagus. N&G’s is our go to for a filet over Ruth’s or newcomer “48” and never disappoints. We ordered bread pudding off their regular menu after seeing it a nearby table and it was unbelievable. Our friendly server, Diego, provided excellent service. Their regular menu is great too - we’re big fans of the short ribs and scallops. Highly recommend dining at N&G’s - one of our favorites for a great overall dining experience.More infoNick & G's RestaurantPrice: Expensive• American• Rancho Santa Fe•4.6
