Best Restaurants with a Tasting Menu in New Canaan

A wonderful dinner - again! We just love this restaurant - great food, knowledgeable and careful service, comfortable setting. Three of us started with the sformata and escargot. If you have not had L’Ostal’s sformata you are missing a real treat: light, flavorful and warm - perfect for a cold night. The escargot were exactly as they should be ( and my son and I fought to soak up the sauce with the bread pieces!). For entrees, we each loved our choices. My son found the paparadelli to be exactly correct - hearty, tasty. My wife had the duck and we all thought it was ideal - moist, flavorful, tender. I had the skate and it was delicious. I love properly prepared skate but find it much less often these days - and L’Ostal made it perfect, light, flavorful, tender. A glass of Pinot noir and it was a perfect dinner. We just love this place! If you haven’t been, go soon.

About 5 years ago, we first visited Cottage. We hadn’t been back simply because it was so noisy you couldn’t have a conversation. We don’t tecall what day of the eeek we were there. We were delighted in our visit today,Sunday, as the music was not too loud and diners did not have to shout to be heard across the table. The soft lighting was perfect and the service was terrific. The food was so good, we’ve decided to return sometime soon!

The Best restaurant of it's type anywhere in NY or CT. A really special place and a wonderful old fashioned atmosphere. It's as good as it was many years ago. You feel like you are in Europe. Great food and beautifully prepared and served. Worth the one hour drive we made to eat there. We splurged on the Chef's tasting menu with Wine pairings and it was spectacular.

new holidays menu is a dramatic elevation. The chocolate cake feels like a warm embrace, and perfect finish after the steak with Brussels sprouts. The new bartender deserves a standing ovation – their Old Fashioneds are a solid 10/10.

Continues to be the best restaurant in Ridgefield! Even when they are busy, service and food are top-notch. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, fabulous food!
