A wonderful gesture was a card wishing us a happy anniversary signed by all the staff waiting for us at our table. This kind of attention to detail is always so welcomely received. We weren’t drinking alcohol today so had bottles of sparking water. We were served an amouse-bouche of a crispy cracker topped with a truffle cream and a peanut. Starters We had confit skate with a crab bisque sauce and chicken liver parfait with a croissant. Mains Doddington lamb with Jerusalem artichoke purée and an anchovy dressing. Monkfish with poached leeks and mussel escabeche. Both beautifully presented and tasted glorious. Dessert I nearly always have the cheese option for dessert and this was the best I’ve ever had. The combination of Cote Hill Blue cheese, Parkin and a Damson jelly was taste perfection. The other dessert of salted caramel slice with Yorkshire rhubarb and a coffee cream was equally delicious. The staff were friendly and helpful making the entire experience memorable and comforting. Thank you for making our special day deliciously memorable.More infoQuince WestgatePrice: Very Expensive• British• Westgate-On-Sea•4.9

- JJeremyKent •2 reviews5.0Dined 6 days agoHad a really enjoyable tasting menu today at The Fordwich Arms. We knew it was going to be an enjoyable experience when our table was located next to a traditional log fire - much appreciated on such a cold day. The food was scrumptious and it was soon apparent why Fordwich has its Michelin star. I really liked all of the food but was torn between the quail and the monkfish when I was endeavouring to rank my favourite dish. The dessert was typically decadent with a subtle ice cream confection that purposely resembled a Snickers. How did they know that I love Snickers? Since I was the designated driver, it was my partner who had the paired wines. Each wine was accompanied by a detailed description from the sommelier whose knowledge of each wine was so instructive that I almost started to make notes. All of the staff were extremely attentive and good-humoured. Thank you all for making my partner’s birthday such a special day.More infoThe Fordwich Arms RestaurantPrice: Very Expensive• Gastro Pub• Canterbury•4.8

Our meals were lovely and plentiful. A good choice for my husband who is a fussy eater.More infoNumber Nine RestaurantPrice: Expensive• Country kitchen• Ramsgate•4.8
