Best Romantic Restaurants in Millbrae

This French restaurant, at the corner of Primrose and Chapin Aves in Burlingame, is well worth a 5-star rating on all counts. Modern, yet subtle, decor, unobtrusive period music in the background, excellent and varied selections, ample portions, and fantastic service provide a reason to return time and time again. Our party of three enjoyed the rack of lamb, the lobster ravioli, and the cassoulet. Each dish showed the attention and skills of a master chef. In addition to a la carte choices, they offer a prix fixe menu at $65 that provides an appetizer, an entree, and a dessert, with no menu exceptions, for this very sensible price. The restaurant offers a broad selection of wines and beer but does not have a full bar so anyone in need of a cocktail before dinner may feel temporary disappointment. Nonetheless, Chou Chou is fine dining!

Loved the entire experience, everything from the ambience, appetizers, cocktails, main course, to dessert in the friendly staff was the cherry on top. Thank you for a fantastic evening. Will see you soon.

Joselyn was a good server. The Bus Boy was so kind and organized. He was so accommodating that evening. Celebrating daughter birthday. Was hoping they would have brought a little slice of cake for her as we mentioned it was her birthday

Double celebration of Christmas Day and birthday dinner. We wanted a good beef dinner for Christmas Day and Porterhouse did not disappoint. Greeted warmly by the hostess. Ambiance was nice and cozy in the little alcove. Bruno came by to say “hello” to our birthday girl. Her family are frequent diners of Porterhouse. Food, wine and beer selections were great. Service by Kayla during our dinner was superb. We very much enjoyed our filet mignon, porterhouse and prime rib! Will be back when we want an excellent quality beef dinner.

Parking is an issue. This is a “neighborhood” spot off of a busy Rl Camino Blvd in Millbrae. Food was ok not great. Very noisy and bustling if that’s your thing. Service was very good. Great pours of wine by the glass( equivalent of 2 normal glasses)
