Best Romantic Restaurants in Monte Rio

It was fabulous! We had not been to Walter Hanzel Wine & Bistro for awhile, probably during COVID when they had an outside tent back then. The name can be a bit deceiving as its a legit restaurant with bar, not a wine bar that happens to serve food. They do however carry a nice selection of wines including their own wine. We enjoyed it back then, and enjoyed it even more recently. The food was delicious, our server was very nice and attentive. I would say the atmosphere is casual fine dining, where they strike a nice balance between fancy & comfortable. We could hold a conversation over dinner without shouting or straining to hear one another. We'll be back there much sooner than last time! Blaise Lo

As guests at the Lodge, we thought it would just be an easy place to dine out - but it was the perfect place to celebrate 30 years of marriage. Everyone was so lovely, the view was spectacular -but the food was the star. Thank you so much for being part of our aniversary!

Table of 3, one first time SonomaCoast visitor from Texas originally from NOLA Inviting atmosphere and delightfully attentive service Started with generous cocktails that were followed by dungenous crab filled mushrooms and a crab avacado tower on gustapo. Short rib on scolloped potatoes, fresh seafood medely with lite creamy tomato sauce and halibut served on lentels with cream caper sauce were all fully enjoyed A lite sparkling wine was selected and enjoyed to meet our guests preference Our comfortable dining experience was made possible by Rosie our attentive, accommodating server. We had an outstanding server named Meghan, who made our entire dining experience very memorable. She was warm, friendly and had a great sense of humor. The food and ambiance was wonderful, but Meghan took things to a whole new level. We will definitely be coming back and hope Meghan will be there to greet us.

First time there and was truly impressed. Service was friendly and efficient, the menu was diverse to satisfy a variety of appetites and the ambience was comfortable and warm. Every plate we had was visually beautiful and extraordinarily tasty. The wine, cocktail and mocktail selection was ample. Will be back!
