- JJessicaSan Francisco Bay Area •2 reviews5.0Dined 3 days agoIncredible food, cozy atmosphere, amazing service - so attentive & kind. Perfect date night experience. Couldn’t have asked for better. For specifics, we shared a lot of food & drink: - Sangiovese & Ruby port were delicious - Burratta starter was our favorite, my partner also liked the chicken livers in bacon but I don’t eat much liver so I’m not a good judge - it seemed amazing if that’s your thing :) Also had bread & EVO - Gnocchi & tomatillo - both incredible; tonarelli was very rich & decadent, gnocchi was lighter but still full of flavor - shared the lamb main, it was fall of the bone perfect - shared the chocolate dessert, was similar to a lava cake - very rich & delicious Everything was really divine. You will enjoy this experience so much!More infoRistorante MilanoPrice: Very Expensive• Italian• Russian Hill•4.9
- DDanielHawaii •1 review5.0Dined 5 days agoMy wife and I recently took my sister and her husband, who were visiting from Charlotte, to State Bird Provisions, and it was nothing short of amazing. The food was absolutely exceptional—each dish was a perfect blend of creativity and flavor. My sister and her husband couldn’t stop raving about how unique the food was, especially the bold use of spices. It was a hit with all of us! The ambiance was also fantastic. The space has a warm and inviting vibe that strikes the perfect balance between trendy and comfortable, making it a great spot for both special occasions and casual nights out. What truly elevated our experience, though, was our waiter. He was excellent—extremely friendly, attentive, and impressively knowledgeable about the menu. He had such a genuine enthusiasm for the food and shared thoughtful recommendations, which we greatly appreciated. At one point, we mentioned we’d heard Ryan Gosling had dined here, and he surprised us by saying he’d actually been Ryan’s waiter! He even told us about the time Ryan came in with Eva Mendes and their two kids. Such a cool story to hear directly from someone who was part of it! State Bird Provisions delivered on every level: amazing food, great atmosphere, and top-notch service. My sister and her husband loved it as much as we did. We’ll definitely be back and can’t recommend it highly enough!More infoState Bird ProvisionsPrice: Very Expensive• Californian• Western Addition•4.7
- RRichardSan Francisco Bay Area •34 reviews5.0Dined on 12 Dec 2024Get another great meal. The only thing better than the food was the service. The burrata on sliced citrus was delicious and perfectly seasoned; the polenta fries were the best I’ve ever had; the brussels sprouts with kale chips were both delicious and beautiful, and the fried olives were almost as flavorful as the mushroom risotto, which was particularly excellent. The beet starter was also delicious and exceptionally prepared. The halibut special with pomegranate relish was perfectly cooked, with both excellent flavor and beautiful presentation over red cabbage. We barely had enough room for the duck pappardelle, always spectacular and worth a detour. Chocolate cake and profiteroles punctuated a most excellent meal. Combined with fine wine from the Napa Valley, we couldn’t have been happier. More infoSociale - San FranciscoPrice: Expensive• Italian• Presidio Heights•4.7
