Standing high above the city on the 10th floor of the City Club Apartments, at 309 Vine Street; resurrected from the history that has stood here before our time, Shires' Rooftop is inspired by the first amusement resort in this part of the country, Shires' Garden. Though the original Shires' Gardens burned to the ground, "in a most picturesque fire," the legacy that was left behind is everlasting and an integral part of the Queen City's history. Had a party of 7 that was seated upstairs in the middle room. Service was slow at the start due to 3 other tables in the next room getting their food as we were seated. We hadn’t even ordered apps 30 minutes after our reservation. But once those tables were served, we were able to order and the service picked up. Stars of the show were the mussels, flat bread, tomato dill soup, filet with king crab, scallops, short ribs and the bread pudding. I would pass on the Cajun Cream pasta.
