Butterjoint is a comfy bar and restaurant located in North Oakland. Our welcoming and eclectic atmosphere is appropriate for almost any occasion - whether it be meeting a friend for a drink, celebrating an important event, or relaxing after work. My wife and I went to the Fox Chapel location of Alta Via with close friends for a 7:30 reservation on a Saturday evening. We were seated immediately by a friendly. Our server quickly greeted us; he was friendly and let us order at our own pace. The meals were timed perfectly and the food was perfect. We have been there several time and the consistency is commendable.

Another beautiful restaurant by DeShantz. The salad had a delicious citrus ginger dressing and was beautifully prepared. The rolls, nigiri and sashimi were all wonderful. Outstanding items were the gyoza and yakimeshi. Would love to see more gyoza options in future offerings.

I take my mom here every time I come to town. We used to come here regularly when I lived in Pittsburgh. The food and drinks are always delicious, the restaurant has a very cool vibe, everyone who works there is friendly and kind, and the service is consistently excellent.

This place is fantastic! Everything from the small plates (risotto), to main courses (mushroom pasta & rack of lamb) were excellent. The server steered us in just the right direction for wines that paired perfectly with our dinners. I also noticed that every meal that came out of the kitchen was closely inspected but the manager to make sure they were on the mark (and they were). This was an anniversary dinner for my wife and me, and we could not have chosen better! Highly recommend it!
