“In Syrian culture, we can’t make any journey without first planning the food. If you decide to go to the cinema, you plan what you’ll eat. If you plan to visit your mother, you know that you’re going to eat. There’s no going out without eating something.”-Imad AlarnabImad Alarnab was a successful restaurateur in Damascus with three restaurants, plus several juice bars and cafes. In the war, Imad's restaurants were destroyed and he was forced to flee the country in search of safety for his family. Making his way from Lebanon through Europe, Imad shared his skills cooking for other refugees, up to 400 at a time, and found even in the most challenging times, his passion for food and bringing people together to celebrate life was strong.

Macellaio RC is a growing family of three Italian restaurants in London. Our restaurants are most famous for its fine steak. In fact, Macellaio means "butcher" and we like to call our steakhouses the butchery with tables. The steak we serve is exclusively from the Fassona beef breed, sourced from special mountain valleys in the north of Genoa. We take pride in sourcing incredible authentic Italian ingredients, food with utmost respect, preparing it with love, and expertly cooking each dish bringing to life a delightful trattoria dining experience.Immerse yourself in an unparalleled dining experience where your steak is masterfully butchered and presented to you before being cooked, and where our chefs craft artisan breads, focaccia and pizza in-house.

Food was very good as always, we had the ‘As good as it gets’ set menu. Service was dreadful though, my wife ordered a glass of Rose and after waiting 5 minutes we called the same waitress over to ask where her drink was only to be told they had run out of Rose. She then ordered a glass of white wine, and after waiting a while again, still didn’t receive it, so she decided to go to the bar to ask for it but was told it would be brought over. Still nothing, so she had to go to the bar again and ask where it was and again was told it would be brought over. Finally it was served to her at the fourth time of asking! When the bill came we were charged for 2 glasses of wine, so I had to ask for one to be taken off!

We had a wonderful time at Hawksmoor Air Street. Our waiter was very attentive and helpful. The food was delicious and so were the drinks. Unfortunately it was very noisy but still manageable. Thank you very much for this once in a lifetime experience ☺️
