Best Restaurants for Special Occasions in Near North

What a perfect place to go for date night after seeing the Nutcracker on a winter afternoon. The food was absolutely phenomenal. We stuck with a light dinner, so strayed away from the apps and dessert. We ordered the rigatoni vodka pasta with the prosciutto sausage (yum) and the gnocchi. Both of us loved our meals and I'm enjoying the leftovers now! The portion sizes were great and it was a good $$$ value with quality ingredients and obviously fresh pasta. If we were hungrier, we would have ordered a few apps - like their burrata, arancini, or the waygu beef meat balls. Their salad offering was also great - the Siena Chopped caught my eye. It was also awesome to see pizzas being fired up in the oven across from where we were seated. We ordered a white wine and standard dirty martini. The tini was not my favorite- i think next time I'd get their speciality dirty martini. They didn't skimp on the alcohol which I can appreciate, but the blue cheese stuffed olives were lacking and squeaky and it wasn't a smooth taste. Our server was great, he was timely, kind and was right with his recommendations! We went at 4:30 and the atmosphere was inviting. It was very quiet and peaceful. This was my first time dining at RPM and it will not be my last!! The food, the service, the ambiance, all 10s!!!! But the food!!! OMG! What I like about this outstanding restaurant is they give you good portions of absolutely delicious food! And an elegant, first class dining ambiance with VIP service. I think my server’s name was Matty. Good date place, great place to dine w friends or a special occasion. Highly recommend! My only big complaint….the bar area was filled with gorgeous women!!! NEED MORE MEN PLEASE!! @RPM how about adding a cigar bar to attract the fellas??

Dom the moment e arrived we knew we’d picked a great place for our first night in Chicago. We had a mocktail and a glass of red whilst waiting for our table. Lovely decor and ambience. Our waiter was very helpful and talked us through the menu. Food was outstanding. We had calamari, fried shrimp and crab linguine. They gave us a complimentary slice of key lime pie. Oh my god this dessert was amazing. We were so full after dinner we were going to skip dessert and this arrived!! It would have been rude not to eat it. The whole experience has made a great start for our 4 nights stay.

Our Christmas Eve dinner was perfect. The food was A+, the ambiance was festive (great playlist!) and our service was impeccable. Anna our server was the perfect combination of engaging and giving us our privacy. She very much made our night more memorable with her kindness, humor and relatability. The steaks were fabulous! We have been to Joe’s, Fioretta, and Bavette’s recently. This was our first time at RPM Streak and I would say that they are the superior choice.

Every bit of our experience was perfection. We were a party of six and enjoyed Caesar salad, arugula salad, fettuccine Alfredo, penne a la vodka, meatballs, quatro formaggi pizze, tiramisu, vanilla gelato/strawberry (can’t remember the name… and espresso martinis… all amazing. Service was great. We will be back.
