- OOliverChicago / Illinois •3 reviews5.0Dined 1 day agoSubmitting a review to commend the host team on Saturday, January 4. Competent, confident, and creative. I know I’m not the only customer who felt the same way. I should have gotten her name, but all restaurants should have a team leader who knows how to roll with the punches and is willing to take calculated risks to satisfy the maximum amount of customers. Well done.More infoSUSHI-SAN - River NorthPrice: Moderate• Japanese• River North (Chicago)•4.8
- BBenjaminChicago / Illinois •1 review5.0Dined 1 day agoWow! Chicago has many great steakhouses, and this one is every bit as good as the old guard with small tweaks that make it incredible. The skillet filet and the full fat old fashioned are perfected classics. The skillet filet is smothered in bone marrow caramelized onions which may be the best onions I’ve ever had. The saltiness from marrow and the sweetness from onions added so much decadence to a really great cut of meat. The full fat old fashioned at $20 has a lot to live up to, and some how it does and then some! The brown butter element gives it almost a butterscotch flavor but not overly sweet. It’s so balanced, I would challenge even non-whiskey drinkers to try it. Mashed potatoes and gravy were really good, Mac and cheese was high quality but nothing revolutionary. -1 star on ambiance because our table was reallly close to our neighbors but the vibe was exactly what you want in a steak house, and even the coat check/check in desk gives a very upscale experience.More infoHawksmoor ChicagoPrice: Moderate• Steakhouse• River North (Chicago)•4.5
- YYseniaChicago / Illinois •17 reviews4.0Dined 2 days agoMy sister and I decided to have our New Year sisters dinner here. We enjoyed the ambience and great music playing. We split our dishes which allowed us to get a good amount of each food item. For starters we ordered the meatballs and frittura mista. Both were great. For our main dishes we ordered the spicy gnocchi and Nero Rosso. The spicy gnocchi had a great flavor, just kinda came out not hot, temperature wise. The same for the nero rosso. We could have easily asked for it to be warmer but we were hungry (preggo mom here) so we just dug in. The one thing we wished was that the lobster tail and claw could have a little more flavor to it. Without the pasta sauce, they didn’t really have any flavor. I’d like to check this spot out during happy hour. I think it’s worth trying again.More infoGino & Marty'sPrice: Very Expensive• Italian• West Loop•4.1
