- LLucyHampshire •3 reviews5.0Dined 6 days agoAs a group of 5 we are here for my vegan sons birthday. Since he became vegan very tricky finding somewhere nice to eat, and not pan Asian food. The rest of us are big meat eaters. Beautiful venue, perfect music levels, beautiful decor and light. Son was blown away by the food, it was certainly very good, although we had to have the festive menu whereas I would have preferred normal menu especially for first visit so couldnt try the “steak” . A tad expensive but then it was a birthday dinner so that ok. Well worth a visit as very few good independents in the area.More infoTWELVE EATERYPrice: Expensive• Vegan• Bournemouth•4.8
- NNigelLondon •10 reviews5.0Dined 6 days agoIf you’ve read anything about Stage at all before this, nothing I can say will come as a surprise. Stage comes across as a total labour of love for the guys running the show. They’re doing what drives them and what they clearly thoroughly enjoy. In the kitchen and front of house. The Taco Boys are on a mission and I felt extremely lucky to be able to go along for the ride with them. There is a total enthusiasm about their food and drinks which is genuinely infectious. The result is a fine dining experience at a non-exorbitant cost: all the enjoyment of creatively imagined, painstakingly sourced and prepared food, introduced to the table with relaxed, fun, and informative style and panache. I have no idea where it would be possible to experience the same levels of culinary ingenuity and sheer enjoyment at such good value for money. So it’s not over the top to use the word unique to describe what just happened. That wasn’t simply an excellent meal, we were actually blown away by the entire show.More infoStagePrice: Very Expensive• Contemporary British• Exeter•4.9
- CClaireDorset •1 review5.0Dined on 9 Dec 2024Firstly, The Anchor Inn is one of my favourite places in the world. I've been returning here for the passed 30 years! This review may sound a little picky that's because it is. These are the only things I can think of that are hopefully constructive. Everything else was super. Just two things that I would like to mention. The music, whilst generally good, it was very repetitive. Same genre and I think the same playlist over the 4 days we visited and perhaps a little too loud. (God, I sound old). I love music and it's great for ambience as background music, but I wasn't there to listen to it, I was there to spend time catching up with friends. Also, the veggie options. The aubergine and hummus baguette. In my opinion, was very bland. It sounded delicious but I was very disappointed. The baguette could've been cooked a little more (very cold and doughy) and perhaps a bit of spice and texture added to the filling. The rest of the food we had over the 4 days was fantastic!More infoThe Anchor InnPrice: Moderate• British• Bridport•4.7
