The Lexington is more than a restaurant, it’s an institution. Located on the corner of Lexington Parkway and Grand Avenue, this St. Paul community was the most fashionable at the turn of the 19th century. The St. Paul elite lived just blocks away and the first electric trolley brought visitors up and down Grand Avenue. The Lexington opened in 1935, after the end of prohibition, and was a popular neighborhood bar to gather and socialize. The bright and beautiful dining room match the food. Everything we had was a 10. The tartine’s are open face sandwiches, the smoked salmon tartine was a very refined delicious start to my day. We also had the filet tartine, the French onion omelette, French toast for the kiddos. I don’t live in the area, but it is definitely worth the drive.

Perfect setting for Christmas Eve dinner. The prime rib, meatloaf wellington and the scallops were fabulous. You hit it out of the park on all counts from being greeted at the door and having a fabulous server. Kudos well done. We will be back.
