Best Waterfront Restaurants in Baileys Crossroads

Tonight was wet and windy in DC. We left our last museum at 5:30pm. Our dinner reservation was not until 7pm. We walked to the restaurant thinking at a min we could dry out and have a pre dinner drink at the bar. When we arrived we explained that we were an hour early for our reservation but without a fuss we were seated immediately. The service was faultless. Our waiter was a bartender doing double duty. He was knowledgeable about the drinks (duhh) and the food and able to answer all of our questions - and my husband asks lots of questions. He oversaw service and was attentive without being bothersome. Our food was delicious. We ordered a variety of foods and were happy with everything we ate. Highly recommended this spot for a great meal with a loved one, good friend or family.

Starters: Both the raw (Back Bay) and grilled oysters (we chose the chimichurri sauce) were outstanding! Perfect salinity, quite generous in size. I had steamed mussels in cider- the mussels were plentiful and tasty, but I found the cider/caramelized onions/ bacon broth to be understated at best. It comes with two large grilled pieces of bread. My husband had the generous and delicious grilled lobster cheese sandwich with sweet potato fries. Others in our party enjoyed the crab cake sandwich (delicious) and the regular steamed mussels (which I wish I’d gotten). All in all, a shellfish paradise.

Omg so thankful to the waiter Hilton and his helper Franklin gusman we had an amazing lovely valentines dinner,,, we asked to change tables and Hilton was so fast at taking care of it, Chantal the manager so nice to bring us to the table , the steaks were so delicious and their wines ! The Valentine's Day brunch was delicious, and the menu provided a variety of options for Valentine’s Day including a generous array egg-based item. We had chicken alfredo pasta and salmon salad. The pasta was at temperature and the salmon was cooked to perfection.

We had an incredible dining experience at Hen Quarter Prime. From the moment I walked in, the warm and inviting atmosphere set the perfect tone for the evening. The lighting was just right—cozy but not too dim—while the soft background music added to the relaxing ambiance. The service was impeccable, with friendly and attentive staff who made excellent recommendations. The food was the real star of the night—every dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor, which was cooked to perfection and paired wonderfully with a glass of wine. Whether you're looking for a romantic dinner spot, a place to catch up with friends, or just a great meal in a welcoming setting, Hen Quarter Prime is a must-visit. We will definitely be coming back.
