Our magical conservatory restaurant is set amid Updown’s rambling grounds. Dine under the grape vines surrounded by beautiful 17th century brick and watch the chefs in the open kitchen tending to the wood fired grill and original farm house bread oven. The restaurant has been completely transformed by owners Ruth and Oli to be heated and fully enclosed and is open year round.Menus will be small, hyper seasonal and use the best of local and European produce and change on regular basis to reflect what’s best. As always nothing to fault. Everything excellent even down to the way the staff work to clear, clean and reset tables. They all so very polite. The food is superb and even small tweaks to the menu is no bother. If you've not been you must.

A very warm welcome and a lovely little treat with your name in scrabble on the table. The young waitress seemed new however her service was excellent and asked again politely if she was unsure. The food came out in good time warm and very tasty. The menu was good covering all bases for what you would want. The am once was good and we could hear each other talk. Overall a lovely evening out and would recommend anyone to visit.

Really enjoyed our meal out to Dr Legumes in Folkestone. Menu online was different to what was presented in the night, but actually superceded our expectations. The food was absolutely delicious, great value for money. What was even better was, they had desserts and you had more than one option. The staff were amazing, attentive, polite, considerate (I put in for a special request, which was fulfilled.) Just overall was really impressed with everything.
