We came for the prime rib. Called ahead and were told it would be ready at 3:00 when dinner service began. It wasn’t. Once I ordered, I was told the prime rib was not ready. Fortunately, it was happy hour and once we had an appetizer (and waited an extra 25 minutes), I was able to get my prime rib. Food was good. Our server Kristin was fabulous, she made the whole experience enjoyable even with the issues with the kitchen. She is worth going back to the restaurant. We had the honey fried chicken which came with mashed potatoes and sauteed kale. Very yummy! There are very few restaurants in the East Bay with great fried chicken, and this is one of them. Not greasy, just crispy and so flavorful. Large portions. We skipped dessert but the choices looked delicious. Our server was fantastic but unfortunately I don’t have her name. Really impressed with her. The ambiance is relaxing and elegant with bookshelves holding old books and a vintage vibe.
