Two of us had the walleye almandine, the others had the halibut and chicken quesadilla. All were fabulous (we expected no less) and three of us asked for boxes to go… that’s how generous the portions are. We were warmly greeted upon our entry and quickly escorted to our seat. Our server quickly came over with our menus and gave us just enoigh time to look it over and order our cocktails, appetizer and meals. We started our evening with a Cucumber Smash cocktail and a Pinot noir, which were both delicious. We had the fried calamari for an appetizer, the pan seared salmon special and walleye for our meal. The pan seared salmon was served over some roasted veggies and sweet potato gnocchi. The salmon was super crispy and delicious, while the gnocchi were soft and tasty! The walleye was cooked perfectly. The crab meat and mashed potatoes the fish was served with were delicious. Our server was fantastic! Unlike many restaurants that attempt many different types of food, J Liu has mastered all that they offer. Their East Asian options are flavorful and reasonably priced, and their fine dining entrees are top quality. Their waitstaff are attentive and knowledgeable.
