Johnny’s Downtown, opened in 1993, is similar to the original Johnny’s Bar on Fulton Road, featuring pasta, veal and fish. The setting, a refurbished 1860’s Warehouse District building, formerly a general store, is the drinking and dining spot of locals and business people alike. Joseph Fall, the executive chef, oversees the food operations and is responsible for our crafting our signature dishes and creating daily specials. It was my first time back in years and it was everything wonderful that I remembered! Professional and lovely server (red hair and glasses, forgive me I’m usually great with names but she was wonderful!)A huge thank you to The Maitre D who was kind enough to put us at quiet table in the back! We so enjoyed our night and will be back soon! Thank you again!

Another wonderful meal at Johnny's and a fun night. We always like to sit in the bar area if it is Monday-Friday to listen to Mike Petrone play. He gets the crowd singing and is wonderful. The food is fabulous also. I had the beef short ribs and they melted in my mouth. Others had the crusted grouper and veal chop which was both excellent. Highly recommend.

Great experience overall. Our server was very knowledgeable and the food was great. I am a vegetarian and there were lots of options. We had a group of 6 and meals ranged from steak to fish to salad and all were pleased. Drinks were great, food quality was excellent and the new decor of what was once a very blah restaurant (the old Bomba) was so much better than I would have expected. It far exceeded my expectations and we will most definitely be going back.
