The Manhattan iteration of the Brooklyn based pizzeria centered around a historic brick oven and comforting food. Emily has earned a following for its signature Detroit-style pies and award winning burger. The pizza here is rectangular (not round) and utilizes the "frico" technique, in which cheese is drizzled on the edges of the pie to create a crispy brown exterior. Beyond the main event, the menu extends to include salads and sandwiches, which shouldn't be ignored (think an attention-grabbing burger and a top-notch spicy fried chicken sandwich). The New Yorker opened in 1930 at the height of the Great Depression as the then largest hotel in the city. It has attracted a who’s who of entertainers and dignitaries from around the world, including Muhammad Ali, JFK, Joan Crawford and Nikola Tesla. Beneath the hotel, a bank vault and offices were occupied by the Manufacturers Trust Company until 1980. With the opening of Butcher & Banker, the public can see the vault for the first time in 37 years.

Part of Park Hyatt NYC but the food was good - but a tad bit pricey. Tuna tartar was great. Truffle risotto was quite good. Chicken was good also. Sticky toffee pudding was quite good. Quite ambience. Great service. I would dine there again.

1000% Recommend RTR. The beef stroganoff is EXCELLENT. The burger w brie AMAZING. Staff was wonderful, very present but not rushed. Try the black tea with cherry compote. Thank you RTR! 😍

We loved Monterey! It’s a lovely restaurant conveniently located near lots of Midtown attractions. The food and beverage presentations were impressive. We had the prime rib special and everything was cooked to perfection. The service was excellent. For dessert, the Bananas Foster was prepared table side. The presentation and taste were amazing. We can’t wait to return.
