Best Historic Restaurants in Conshohocken

Very good food. Not well promoted. Hidden gem. Nice crowd for a weekday.

Highly recommend dining at Valley Green Inn. The food was excellent and our waiter, Tristan, was very friendly and outgoing. Felt at home here. The restaurant is vintage and has history in our area of Philadelphia, and I love it! I’m embarrassed to say I’ve been living here for over 35 years now and have never dined at the restaurant. Boy was I missing out! haha! Go there asap! You won’t be sorry.

Last night, we enjoyed a fun evening with our friends in the bar. We had a great time, and the thin bartender with the longer brown hair, beard and mustache took care of us. We've had him before but I forgot his name. On the receipt it said Bar D. When my salted caramel apple martini tipped due to the uneven table, he was able to refresh it and he also made it to my liking, light salt. :) The bacon wrapped stuffed dates with goat cheese were good, which I wasn't sure what to expect. We also had the pretzel sticks, and they filled me up to the point where I ate less of my short ribs, but will get to enjoy them again this weekend. Of course, we had to save room for dessert. We were celebrating my husband's bday, and a belated holiday party. The chocolate coconut dessert was scrumptious and the other couple said that the bread pudding and seasonal crisp were outstanding too. We love coming to Black Powder Tavern because we know we will always have a good meal and great service!!!

Staying at West and Main.. so thought we would check out this place within the hotel. The environment is very soothing and relaxing. We were seated by a window which was even better. Our cocktails were amazing. I had the braised beef ribs which was probably the best meal I’ve ever had in the past 10 years! The meat fell apart in my mouth. The taste was amazing. My husband had grilled oysters and the mushroom soup which was also one of the best I’ve had in a long time! Our waitress was sweet and kind and I would definitely recommend having this experience. Yes it’s a high-end restaurant and the prices are a little higher than normal but for the experience and the quality of food, it’s totally worth it.

Akwaaba Tea Salon is within a beautiful, historic building that was easy to get to get to for us out-of-towners. Inside, the light shown through on us and the beautiful, historical images of beautiful people on the walls, as we sipped on delicious tea, scarfed down delicious salad and soup, and then plates of delicious sweets and savory treats. The warm and welcoming staff doted on us, ensuring we were comfortable and had what we needed, as our group enjoyed each other's company. To see the other guests, dressed to the nines, talking and laughing and engaging with each other added to the wonderful energy that we felt throughout the beautiful experience.
