The ffrost Sawyer Tavern is located in the beautiful and historic Three Chimneys Inn. The Tavern, with its open hearth Summer Kitchen fireplace, granite walls, and hand-hewn beams, provides a cozy spot for hearty traditional New England fare. The Maples Dining Room features millwork dating to 1699 and retains the original Indian shutters that protected settlers from Colonial-era attacks.     My family and I (6 in all) enjoyed an excellent dinner last night. We were celebrating my granddaughter's 21st, and they graciously provided a celebratory glass of Prosecco, and made a point of coming over to add his congradulations. Nothing but praise for the entire experience. That being said, one word of caution...parking is very difficult so if you don't know Portsmouth please give yourself some extra time and figure out how to get to a parking garage and walk to the restaurant. I was lucky and found a spot 50 feet from the front door....but my kids took 15 minutes to sort it out.

    As usual, it was great fun to introduce new friends to this delightful experience. Menu is always creative with themed table settings to enjoy. Service this time was lagging a bit though. Waitress seemed new and distracted.

    Our party of six each enjoyed various drinks and items from the menu. Everything was fresh and delicious. Our server, Romaine, made us feel welcome and took great care of us during our dining experience. Hope to go back again soon.
