Ten years later it changed to the Prince of Wales and in 1965 became The Fox & Pheasant and we have no intention of changing its name again!Not only are we a snug pub in the winter with 3 fire places, a dartboard and dog biscuits for the well behaved companions (dogs)! The food was excellent, but the service left much to be desired. The male waiters were lovely and accommodating, but the female server who attended to us was abrupt and rude. One of our friends is pregnant, and we requested well-cooked food for her. When she brought it over, she commented, "This is the stuff you don’t like," which was not the case—our friend simply cannot eat raw food. I also tried to ask her for recommendations, but she cut me off and told me not to interrupt, even though I wasn’t. While the food and overall ambiance were great, her attitude dampened what could have been an otherwise pleasant experience.

I love this restaurant. It has all the feel of a simple trattoria down to the black and white photos of Italy and Early 60's romantic background music. Superb authentic dishes (tripe, oxtail) in a n unburdened menu. Great Italian wine list - several available by carafe as well as whole bottle.. Some dishes to die for. Not cheap - but hey it's Knightsbridge.
