Best Historic Restaurants in Newtown

Food and service were excellent as always. Cozy and inviting.

The mashed potatoes were a bit too salty, but otherwise, the meal was excellent. Our server, Conor, took great care of our table. This is a great place for special occasions. I would also recommend the Pineville Tavern for a regular meal. By the way, the side dishes on the Christmas menu were mostly potatoes. This may have been the best way to handle holiday dinners. We have visited Bowman’s from Monmouth County every December for the past 7 years and it never disappoints. Wonderful food, even better people and service. It’s our favorite family holiday tradition!

So get this. Last time we were at Relic we met the Chef at the bar after dinner. I asked if he ever had escargots as a special and he told me to let him know when we’d be back and he’d have escargots for us. When I booked a table next time, I mentioned this in the opentable comments section. When we arrived, the hostess let us know that Chef made escargots for us !!! It was phenomenal and unique. Relic is a gem !!

They are doing a price fixed menu right now, 3 courses for $35. Had the calamari which were excellent. Seemed fresh, not frozen. The filet and crab cake were both great. Tiramisu was an excellent finish to the meal. Highly recommend Bella Tori
