- JJonVIPSan Francisco Bay Area •30 reviews5.0Dined 1 day agoGlad to finally experience John's Grill in SF. The food was superb. Started with tomato and cheese appetizer. Then lobster bisque, followed by steak and lobster tail. Finished with their bread pudding with creme anglaise. All top notch. Cocktails excellent also. The restaurant was already crowded and noisy at 4:30 PM. There was apparently a convention in town.More infoHistoric John's GrillPrice: Expensive• American• Downtown / Union Square•4.7
- MMichaelSan Francisco Bay Area •3 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoEverything was wonderful (as usual) except our server. He wasn't pleasant or friendly. Previous servers knew we were there for our anniversary, said Congratulations, asked how long we've been together, took a picture of us etc. He had no interest in anything except getting our drink and entree order. Not a nice fellow or interested in making us feel welcome. Example; there was no napkin at my place setting and I politely asked for one. He walked by, put one on the table and said "here ya go" and kept moving. I said "thank you" but all I saw was the back of his head moving away. A good server would have offered an apology for the oversight, immediately corrected the mistake and said to the customer thanks for your patience and understanding (or something to that effect). He made me feel like I was bothering him. Contrary to our disengaged waiter there was a busser guy who was awesome! He was open and friendly, joyful, and accommodating. He liked his job and wanted to be helpful. Our actual server, not so much. My wife and I openly wished the busser was our server. If I knew the busser's name, I'd say promote him. The only time our waiter was even remotely kind was when he put the bill on the table. So, when it's time for the tip, guess what? He was very nice! Wow, imagine that...More infoHouse of Prime RibPrice: Very Expensive• Steak• Civic Center / Hayes Valley / Van Ness•4.8
- GGilbertSan Francisco Bay Area •5 reviews5.0Dined 4 days agoAbove all was the service. The food was generally good but not top notch, at least for the weekend brunch. The ambience, although it no longer has the incredible lush palms, the Garden Court once had, still retained an air of grand elegance.More infoThe Garden Court - Luxury CollectionPrice: Expensive• Californian• SOMA•3.9
- OTOpenTable DinerSan Francisco Bay Area •3 reviews5.0Dined 4 days agoFantastic food and service, great vibes. Perfect for date night or with a bigger group. Pesto linguine is always my favorite, we both loved the roasted beet salad and my husband is a fan of the chicken parm with spaghetti. Don’t forget espresso martinis.More infoOriginal Joe's - San FranciscoPrice: Moderate• Italian• North Beach•4.7
- SSarahVIPLondon •1 review5.0Dined on 25 Dec 2024Our Christmas Day Brunch experience was fantastic. I have some food allergies so I had emailed The Post Room Team in advance and received a prompt, reassuring reply from the chef, Jose, who had clearly given my questions thoughtful and thorough consideration. On the day, I received personal service from Jose who was committed to avoiding issues with cross-contamination. All the food we ate was delicious and the dining room team could not have been more welcoming or accommodating. We were so well looked after, it was a faultless festive experience. We only went out for our Christmas meal this year because I had recent hand surgery and can’t cook much. However, our experience at The Post Room was so delightful, I am considering doing it again next year. Thank you to Jose and the whole team.More infoThe Post RoomPrice: Expensive• Californian• Downtown / Union Square•4.1
